PAUSE ACADEMY

 

Education is the foundation of our company, so we thought what better way to educate than to set up our own school - Pause Academy.

 

Our academy goes more in depth with the science of the body and mind. Our philosophy is  when an individual has an education in how their body, and mind operates it makes understanding themselves fully, and supporting their mental health that much easier.

​

The courses and trainings we offer are for anyone, and specifically for those who want to support their own mental health, those working in the mental health field, yoga teachers, and workplaces wanting to support their employees. 

COURSES

We currently offer 8 week courses which combine psychology and yogic technology to support your mental wellbeing.

CONQUERING YOUR MIND

​

This 8-week course provides an education, and a deeper understanding on how the mind works. We will learn to clarify the relationship between the self, and the mind. We will use a specific model of the mind, learn the structure, discussing in depth the qualities and aspects of the mind, as well as the mental games we may play with ourselves. We will increase the ability to become the observer, to focus the mind, and not attach to thoughts, feelings, and emotions.

STRESS REDUCTION


This 8-week course provides an education, and a deeper understanding of the physiological responses when under stress, the ability to identify stressors, prevent, and manage the stress response. We will learn specific techniques to help reduce stress levels, as well developing a mental health first aid kit to transform and balance the stress.

MANAGING RELATIONSHIPS

​

This 8-week course provides an education, and a deeper understanding on what a genuine relationship is, and what it’s not, and will support you in integrating relationships into your life. We’ll examine our relationships with our self and others, and look at the role our core values play in the role of relationships. We'll learn techniques to develop awareness in relationships, and looks at ways to make long term relationships a success.

THE ART OF COMMUNICATION

This 8-week course provides an education, and deeper understanding on how the ways we communicate. We’ll explore conscious communication, as well as understanding the role deep listening plays..

POSITIVE LIFESTYLES & ROUTINES

​

This 8-week course provides an education, and deeper understanding in identifying our habits, and patterns - both conscious and unconscious. We'll also explore the topics of sleep and nutrition. 

Group Stretching

TRAININGS

Pause Academy offers a 200 hr teacher training program to become a Yoga Alliance certified teacher. We felt the need to make the training easy and accessible to accommodate people’s hectic schedules, so we split the training into five bitesize 40 hour modules. Therefore if you are wanting to learn more about a specific topic in depth, then you can focus on that module, without the commitment of the whole teacher training. The modules also support continued education credits.

RESEARCH

Pause Mental Wellness believes in evidence based data, and is currently involved in research projects at University of Southern California, and Mount Saint Mary's University under the advisement and mentorship of Assistant Professor of Medicine, and Associate Neuroscientist at

 Harvard Medical School. 

​

Our current focus is on stress, and understanding the changes in brain chemistry when we apply our techniques to manage stress responses. We're also investigating somatic memory especially when our bodies are in fight or flight, and are working with university students and first responders as our population sample.
